Asha Parekh

Asha Parekh born 2 October 1942 is a Hindi Cinema actress, director, and producer. She was one of the top stars in Hindi films from 1960 to 1973 and is said to have starred in more hit films than any other actress.
 
Asha Parekh was born into a Gujarati household on 2 October 1942 in Maharashtra, India to a Jain father was from Paldi near Pirana, Ahmedabad, Gujarat and Muslim mother, Since she was an only child, she became the centre of her parents' lives. Her mother enrolled her in Indian classical dance classes.
 
Asha Parekh has remained unmarried. There were rumors that she was romantically involved with her director Nasir Hussain. In her later years, Asha said that she had a longtime boyfriend but declined to elaborate on the relationship.

Today, she concentrates on her dance academy Kara Bhavan, which has produced many skilled dancers. The Asha Parekh Hospital in Santa Cruz Mumbai is named after her because of her many contributions.
 











Waheeda Rehman

Waheeda was born in a Tamil and Urdu-speaking family in Chengalpattu-Tamil Nadu, India. Her father was the District Magistrate which led him to be posted in several places. Tragedy visited her in 1948 when her dad passed away. Her mom passed away in 1955.

A year after her dad's death she appeared in a Telegu movie 'Rojulu Marayi'. Her role was as an dancing child artiste. She is proficient in Bharat Natyam. It was here that she was spotted by noted Bollywood actor and film-maker, Guru Dutt, who gave her a lead role in C.I.D. She went on to appear in 5 Guru Dutt classics - Pyaasa, 12 O'Clock, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Chaudhvin Ka Chand. Her pairing with Devanand was very popular and they had 5 blockbusters - C.I.D., Solva Saal, Kala Bazar, Baat Ek Raat Ki and Guide and 2 critically acclaimed but box office flops - Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja and Prem Pujari. She has acted as a child artiste, a leading lady, then switched to character appearances. She has procured the Best Film Actress Award in 1965 for her role in 'Guide', and then again in 1968 for 'Neel Kamal'.

She had co-starred with Kamaljit Singh in 'Shagun', and later married him on April 27, 1974, and moved to his farmhouse in Bangalore. She subsequently gave birth to a son, Sohail, and then to a daughter, Kashvi. She being not happy with roles offered to her declined offers after 1991. When Kamaljit became ill, she and the family re-located to 'Sahil', located near Bandra Bandstand, Bombay. Kamaljit passed away on November 21, 2000. Sohail has achieved his M.B.A. and is working in a Private Limited Company, while Kashvi is a Jewelery Designer.After her husband's death she appeared in 7 films from 2002.

Moon Moon Sen

Daughter of Bengali actress Suchitra Sen, and mother of actresses Riya Sen and Raima Sen.
Has performed in over 20 languages, and has won awards like the Nandi State Award, the Kalakendra Screen Award and the Bharat Nirman Award.
Her late mother-in-law, Ila Devi, was the princess of Cooch Behar, whose younger sister Gayatri Devi is the Maharani of Jaipur.
In 1978, Sen married Bharat Dev Varma, a descendant of the royal family belonging to the state of Tripura in India. They have two daughters, actresses Raima Sen and Riya Sen. She has high regard for her husband, for his consistent support of her professional acting career.
Sen is writing a cookbook in Bengali, which is yet to be published. Most recently, she has made occasional appearances in the Page three sections of Indian newspapers, usually at polo events or film-related events, and promoting new restaurants.
In an interview in 2000, she said she taught at Ballygunge Girls' School for a year and then taught graphics at Chitrabani, a school teaching film techniques. She also taught English at a well known Boys' school in Calcutta before joining films.
Loves paintings and collecting antiques.
Received her masters in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University in Calcutta.
Studied in Loreto Convent in Darjeeling, then in a British school in England and after coming back she graduated from Loreto College in Calcutta.
Her father is Dibanath Sen. Dibanath Sen was the son of one of the wealthiest business men of Calcutta, Adinath Sen. Her great grandfather is Dinanath Sen and was the Minister of the Maharaja of Tripura.
Has appeared in 60 films and 40 TV serials.
